Optical isomerism

Is (CH3)(Cl)CHCH2CH3 chiral or not? Please help

Yes it is! With these kind of questions I recommend always drawing out the molecule as it makes things clearer.
As the second carbon in the chain has 4 different groups attached (H, Cl, CH3, and CH2CH3) it is a chiral carbon - and in this case the molecule only has one. (Bear in mind molecules can have more than one chiral centre).
Assuming you’re doing A-Level chemistry, I would recommend chemguide.co.uk as a super comprehensive website - sometimes it goes a bit over spec but it is also concise and easy to understand. In this case, the page on optical isomers might help.
