Medicine - Scotland

Hey, could anybody advise on whether my UCAT score is good enough? I am Scottish, and I am only applying to Scottish universities for medicine. Probably Glasgow, Edinburgh, St Andrews, and Dundee. Also Im not eligible for widening access.

I got AAAAAAAC in my nat 5's (the C was in PE which my school makes us all sit even though we didn't do any classes for it), and AAAAA for my highers in maths, English, chemistry, physics, and biology. I have decent extracurriculars and a bit of work experience. I got 2710 B2 in my UCAT, and I'm scared that will hold me back.

Sorry need some reassurance that I'm not going to get rejected straight away, do any Scottish medicine applicants from past years have any idea?

Hi,
Thanks for your question and it’s great to hear that you are interested in studying here at UofG! The 2024 entry UCAT minimum interview thresholds were 2450 for Scottish applicants, and further Admissions figures for 2024 entry will be published on the website in due course (https://www.gla.ac.uk/schools/medicine/mus/admissions/ukclinicalaptitudetestucat/#howweuseucatattheuniversityofglasgow-2025entry).
If you would like to contact the Admissions team directly to enquire about your qualifications, we advise that you submit an enquiry directly to the University.
You can submit an enquiry here - gla.ac.uk/study/enquire/
Alternatively, our admissions team are available via Live Chat Monday-Friday 10am 4pm (UK Time) (https://www.gla.ac.uk/study/enquire) Just click the purple speech bubble located in the bottom right-hand side of the screen.
All the best,

I think you should be good tbh, at least from my understanding. Your UCAT is above the minimum threshold for all of the universities over the past few years, although I’m not sure what St Andrews is I doubt it massively higher than the rest. It’s easier said than done but just chill before interviews start coming out - and also don’t stress if you don’t get an immediate interview invite when other people are, sometimes it’s just later for others

Hi!!
I’ve had three interviews so far, so i’ve done my Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Dundee interviews. They all went pretty okay so hopefully i’ll hear back, but St Andrews hasn’t responded to my initial application yet. Thanks for asking!

Which of these interviews did you find the most difficult? Were there any things that tripped you up that you remember? Please don't be too specific as technically it breaks TSR code of conduct, anything you could give really would help.
Best of luck!
