2 year gap year or transfer to med scheme?

I completed my A-levels in June of this year and decided I wanted to do medicine instead of accounting which I initially applied for in year 12. I was going to sit the UCAT and take 1 gap year but I ended up being extremely sick for more than a week and now there are no more dates. Should I take my UCAT next year and wait 2 years to go uni or apply to a transfer course now and start September? also do transfer courses require UCAT too?
please help i desperately want to do medicine. advice is much appreciated.

some transfer courses e.g. bradford's require the UCAT but only later on in the year, idk about others but i imagine probably?

thank you so much , I checked their requirements. Leicester also requires ucat later but the places are subject to if places on the course are available by then. i have a question though, do you think its riskier this way or is it best to wait out 2 years and go the 'traditional way' or would that be a waste.

i feel like it's a lot better to go via the traditional route given you have a much better chance at going into medicine, these transfer schemes are miles more competitive than the normal route, in fact i might be taking 2 gap years myself as i didn't do the correct a levels for medicine and it doesn't bother me at all. 2 years is nothing in the grand scheme of things

It depends on your priorities. If you're set on studying medicine, waiting to take the UCAT next year and starting university in two years is a solid option
