Hi all, I’ve seen MA Social Work courses in Clearing at different universities this year. I’m considering the course but have a few questions: 1) One of the universities is UcLan. Does anyone have experience of studying Social Work here? 2) Would it be reasonable to work part-time whilst studying? 3) Is there any difference between MSc and MA for Social Work? Also would be happy to hear any experiences or advice for people who have studied social work and gone on to be social workers! Thank you
How are you? It's great to hear that you are interested in studying Social Work at university and that you are considering UCLan. Although I haven't studied on this course myself, I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you have.
Many of our students do work part time jobs alongside their studies. There are opportunities throughout the year for students to become ambassadors here at the university. This is a paid role allowing flexible working opportunities for students and involves: - Meeting and talking to potential students who are interested in studying at UCLan - Supporting virtual and physical events including Open Days. Applicant Days, Graduation and Lancashire Science Festival - Speaking to applicants in our peer-to-peer call centre - Delivering campus and facility tours
If you are looking to get a part time job whilst studying I would consider how you will work this around your studies and social life before applying.
