Dentistry as a mature student 2nd degree, help!!!

Hi all I’m finalising my UCAS application and I’m sitting ucat tomorrow. I have Business management degree 2:1. I have done my polish equivalent of a levels 20 years ago and something like GCSEs - I have done my a levels in math not biology though. I’m due to complete my access to medicine around May next year. Please could you tell me what else will strengthen my chances and which Unis to apply to in London
I was calling many today and they don’t accept calls ! All admissions teams wants emails answered will take a few good days to get a reply
I really don’t want to retake my gcsc and a levels at age 40 so any other tips or what worked for you please share and thank you

Hi, I found your message and I am also 40 and about to start my access course to follow a similar path to yours. Would you be able to recommend an access course, please? I have signed up to the online one but the tutors seem a bit difficult to ask questions from!

Hey there, if it was only London uni’s you were considering then that only leaves King’s College London and Queen Mary and from what I know about both unis is that they require bioscience degrees to optimise your chances of getting in. If you really want to go for Dent maybe you could consider uni’s outside of London too? Plymouth do not look at academia for mature students - they’re only requirement in lieu of this is the GAMSAT so perhaps that could be something you could look into? They are the only dental school that uses the GAMSAT and believe that their interview offers have typically been for scores 49 and above.
