Why am I addicted to TikTok and YouTube. I do not focus on important things

Hi,

I keep posting things on my 100 accounts on TikTok and YouTube. Instead I should be revising and focusing on my education. I fear I will not get anywhere in life
delete them. thats what i did during exam season,, also if you have a laptop or smth, i got the chrome extension "stay focused" where it gives you time limits for certain sites, you can also block websites which is what i also did during exam season
only you can stop yourself from going on tiktok and yt,, no one else can do that for you
I find the app Forest helpful (you can download it for free on Android, only premium version on an iPhone/iPad) or a similar app. You can also block certain apps during deep focus.

Alternatively you could set time limits on your phone.

bit harsh? And surely these are 2 separate things?

The Apps are designed to manipulate you and encourage addiction - addictions can be managed and removed from your life. Being aware that this is an issue for you is a good start. Removing access when you need to focus on other things is a good start

IMO Self discipline is related but different - again this can be managed and improved with different tactics and behaviours. Having clear goals and understanding what motivates you is a good start. Things like Pomodoro can help chunk things down

Be gentle on yourself and celebrate your successes

Not my intention, I'm just a straightforward person.
