Dental hygiene and therapy

Hi I’m currently taking a gap year and applying to dental hygiene and therapy course. However I done BTEC extended diploma in applied science. I was wondering what I should do to increase my chances of getting accepted as the acceptance rate are very high. I was thinking of competing a level 3 national diploma in dental nursing to improve my knowledge and experience or if I should just do work experience in a dental clinic (shadow a dentist). Which one will be better for my personal statement for DHT.

I’m also in a gap year sort of thing. I’m doing dental nursing but I am planning on leaving it is not worth it, not good pay and too toxic. I am planning to do an access course to HE and do some work experience. Those two together should be fine. I advice you look at the university’s you want to apply to and look at their specific entry requirements if your BTEC is accepted and you got good grades then don’t do the nursing course. If you didn’t get good enough grades like me then I suggest the access course. But as always do your own research.

Yess decided not to do the dental nursing diploma! Most universities I’m applying to accepts BTEC and I got fairly good grades. Do you mind telling me more about the access course to HE? I’ve heard a lot about it but do they give you a certificate once you’re done?

I’m looking at the website distancelearningcentre.com’ I want to do the one for science. They should give you a certificate but I think it’s better if you look at the website and read for yourself, it has many pages of information. I would like to add that I chose this website after looking at reviews on TikTok and trust pilot. And it was the best website which let you be flexible ( you can finish the course in as many months you want , which is good because you can finish it in shorter time bc you already done applied science so it will be easier for you to complete) , good price , and reliable. I am yet to enroll but tbh I was thinking this week. Do your research and choose the best company and course for you!
