Looking for support from Year 13s and above

I have just started year 12, studying A Level Maths, Economics and Business. I am planning on starting to make revision resources as well as about 45 minutes per week dedicated to revision for each subject. Is this too eager and am I likely to burn out before my exams next year?

In terms of the revision, most of the revision I did for my GCSEs involved making flash cards, cramming the day before the exams. Is there any revision techniques I could do which would be more valuable considering the time I have until my A Level exams?

So, at least 45 mins a week per subject? it depends. Maths will need a lot of practice (i'd advise after every lesson). You'll find that it'll be increasingly more difficult to revise as sixth form goes on bc ucas and all. (also i may have resources for you here)

my very biggest bit of advice i could give is to learn the mark schemes and practice past papers. you're likely to pick up on patterns of marking throughout the papers like the way some questions are structured and what you need to say/do to guarantee a mark. pick up on areas that you realise you have weaknesses in and don't be afraid to ask for clarification/support if you feel you need it, theres no shame in that ! best of luck

What does ucas do to make it harder to revise?

personal statement takes a lot of time, MOOCs (online courses) also take time. Also need to look for universities, open days, taster days in subjects, wider reading etc. also dont forget that you'll have extracurriculars
edit: all these mean that there's less time to revise

The amount of time you study for a subject isn't that important. What matters is you finishing your work on time and being on top of your studies. For example, 45 minutes for maths seems very low, as someone already pointed out, since you have to practice maths a lot. For business, it might be that 45 minutes is more than you need. So I would suggest going with the flow: when you start learning a lesson for a subject, start making flashcards and notes and, for maths, practicing topical questions. And don't even think about cramming the night before an exam in A levels. Also, people make out A levels to be such hard exams that it seems almost impossible to get good grades. Don't listen to those people. 2-3 hours of self-studying (almost) every day for the next two years is enough.
