Do I need the full alevel in further maths to get into a competitive econ course?

so i recently decided to drop the full further maths alevel to just the as level, however now I'm a bit worried as to whether my chances of getting into competitive courses for economics (eg lse, bath, ucl) has dropped. my current predicted grades (my subjects are maths, further maths, econ and physics) are A*AAA (with an A predicted for the AS further maths). my personal statement is quite good, and there is an upcoming exam in which i can increase my physics grade (however i dont want to get my hopes up for that). I am also doing the tmua in jan so my plan is to ace that. I also got five 9s, two 8s and four 7s in my gcses.

I know places for econ at those unis are extremely competitive, and honestly im just worried that i wont have a chance because i know loads of people are going to be applying with 4A*s predicted.

For LSE and Cambridge you'll have little to no chance without FM. For others you should stand a decent chance I believe.

I think they do prefer FM for econ but they're not picky to the level LSE/Cambridge are.

Given that you are not applying early, the only uni which you may have an issue with will be LSE. Other than that, no other uni requires, or even reccomend FM, with top courses like Warwick only having roughly 30% of entrants taking full further maths. Good luck, also appling for econ this year 👍️
