English Langauge Paper 1 help (AQA gsces btw)

For Q2 and Q3 what structure is the best. Ive heard of Prtzel, peel, peal, etc, but which is the most successful. Also how many paragraphs do most grade 9 answers have.

For q4, what structure and how many paragraphs. how do you also plan your answer before you actually write it and how long should you spend.

For q5, how do you get better at planning and like writing the piece in general. How many paragrpahs do you recommend?

How do you plan and prepare for paper 1 after you finish all the available past papers?
2: PEAR (point, evidence, analysis, reader effect) I did 2 paragraphs for Q2 usually
3: PEAR again, one on beginning middle and end each
4: PEAR and add a conclusion to 2 or 3 paragraphs (length dependant) i didnt usually plan but having an idea of agree/disagree before you start writing is a good idea. Balance your argument and make sure your covering your view on all parts of the statement
5: my plans consisted of: what language techniques i wanted to add, punctuation i wanted to add and structural techniques i wanted to use (like a little checklist type thing to refer to throughout!) its always a good idea to think before you write- bullet pointing ideas or even a little mindmap can be very helpful for planning. In terms of how many paragraphs it doesn’t really work like that- vary your paragraph lengths a lot but aim to write around 1.5-3 sides of A4 depending on writing size i would say
Hope this helps, happy to try answer any questions if you have them 🙂

What do you mean by add a conclusion to 2 or 3 paragraphs (length dependant)
also how do you practise and like know what to plot in your q5. Also how o you find all the fancy words

So for the question 4 structure I’d suggest doing one paragraph per point you can make about the statement you’re given. If you can write 2 really in depth paragraphs then that’s better than 3 rushed ones so it depends on how well you’re able to unpick quotations and use proper analysis. You’ll need to add a conclusion to show your overall perspective on the statement.
For question 5 practicing is very important, and get your teacher to give you feedback on your attempts. To plan your answer you might wanna bullet point key things that you want to include as i said before. I found it helpful to have a character i usually included.
To find ‘fancy words’ (terminology) id suggest using something like quizlet or blooket. There are lots of vocab sets on gcse English language terminology which is really important.
Hope that helps 🙂
