I wanna be a kpop idol,im currently yr 10 GCSE student

Ive been self training my vocal and dance for the past 4 years now...i told my parents 2 yrs ago that i wanted to audition and in Year 9 i auditioned for a few but either submitted late or didnt get in. As a child i went to a dance academy for 6 years, and i had private singing coach for 4 years. After last year however, my asian parents dont let me audition since i started Year 10, and they force me to focus on studies for gcse. i dont wanna give up on my dream just like that tho T^T They said that i can only go back to auditioning after gcse and by that time ill be 16, which if you know could drcrease chances of getting accepted cos id be a bit old. My parents get mad at me for even practicing but if im planning to audition at 16, id better practice till then or else ill loose my skills......
i dont wanna waste my chance now tho since im young T^T

i was wondering if i should start a youtube and insta since then at least i could get scouted, plus i love taking pictures and vlogging but my asian parents dont want me to "waste time on it"

What am i supposed to do??? T^T

What GCSE subjects are you doing - it would probably be useful to do music, drama and/or dance in some capacity

We don't have dance as an option, but my parents made me take normal gcse options:
Eng,math,bio,chem,phy,German,computer science,geography,rs/re

If I were your parents I would be sceptical too. Wanting to be a K pop idol says more about you wanting to be famous than having a genuine love of music and singing and wanting to develop these skills for their own sake rather than becoming a social media idol.

I encouraged both of my children in the performing arts and both have earnt a living from it professionally but doing a mixture of stuff. Concentrating on your GCSE's is a good idea and will give you a good basis for if you want to study at A level/Btec.

i wanna be a music artist, but since the kpop industry is asian i knew my parents would trust it more than some random american agency. ive spent so long trying for this idk what im doing now...everything is kinda pointless....
i didnt want it to come off that way if it did...i just love performing (singing, dancing) and kpop is also something that does both properly....also what i stated above (my parents are asian so asian industry etc etc)
