did I make the wrong choice for university?

So I will be studying computer science at the university of reading but I will be travelling from home however, I did have the option to study at Exeter instead but I declined it only because it was far away from where I live (3 hours away). I get home sick pretty badly and I used to go to a secondary boarding school which I had been going to for about 6/7 years and even after spending there for so long I would still get homesick. I did like Exeter much more than reading but due to distance hence why I declined but was it the wrong choice to decline Exeter?
no , not given your personal preferences
Agree you made the right choice for you. If it means you complete your course and maintain better MH that is a better outcome. If it’s rankings you are concerned about they are both good Unis and there is only a few % between places. And things which push rankings up don’t matter to you.

No, you made the right choice for you. Also, there are more tech businesses near Reading than Exeter.

Hi @TreeGoatFree ,

It sounds like you made a decision which suits you the best and prioritises yourself which is really important! Homesickness can be tough, and since you experienced this from boarding school, you may find staying closer to home will help you feel more comfortable during your transition to university. It seems like there is no right or wrong choice here, as long as you have done what you feel is best for you! 🙂

Im sure you will have a great experience at Reading! Computer Science is a great course with loads of opportunities! We also have lots of events for commuting students so you can meet people who are also travelling from home.

Best of luck. Feel free to reach out if you have anymore questions!

Millie 🙂
