GCSE

Hi guys, hope you are well. Do you have any tips and tricks you can disclose which helped you a lot in GCSE to get grade 9s?

I’d recommend purchasing a big whiteboard and blurting out all your subject content. So you’d choose a certain topic and write down all the knowledge you can and use a textbook to add in what you missed in another colour. You can do this on any resource really but with a whiteboard you can do it over and over again quickly until it’s stuck in your head. I’d also suggest teaching the content, even if it’s to your bedroom wall, using the whiteboard too. And obviously do exam questions repeatedly to learn the mark schemes. Even if you can’t be bothered to revise just have an exam paper with the mark scheme open next to you and write the answers in a coloured pen, it’s weirdly helpful. But my biggest advice is to avoid just writing out content onto a pretty piece of paper, unless you’re going to test yourself on said content or stare at it all hours of the day it won’t be helpful.
If you can’t tell I love my whiteboard 🤩. But good luck on your exams next year!!

Hey what subjects are you doing? I can tell you which subjects i got an 8/9 in so that you can say which ones you need help with bc there are different revision methods for each subject:
Bio- 9
Chem- 9
English lang- 9
French- 9
RE- 9
Physics-8
Maths- 8
English lit- 8
For the sciences, you can watch free science lessons, he says everything you need to know (EVERYTHING), also for bio you can watch kayscience.com, he is specifically for edexcel and i was aqa but its fine bc there is overlap. Then you wanna make flashcards off of what you learn. There is also a website called mygcsescience i used, it hs a grade 8 guaruntee but you do have to pay, i didnt beleive the guaruntee but then ended up getting from 7/8 to 8/9s so 😭😭. Then go to a topic question website like physics and maths tutor and just do all of the questions marking them and then making flashcards of the ones you got wrong, that helps a lot bc there will def be repeat questions (that happened for me in the real thing, i'd seen the questions before or similar ones so i could answer it perfectly). Also use the specification for what they want to know.

any other help just ask

Also, to get grade 9s you dont have to be an academic freak from the get go, just have a good mindset, ANYONE can do it if they set their mind to it, it just takes hard work. I would recommend starting when your mocks start, if you start now you'll be tired when exams start and you'll forget what you did anyway. Revise really hard for mocks, then relax after then really start in february. And it doesn't matter if you're reading this late and starting in April or May, I literally learned half of the biology and chemistry content the week/night/morning before 😭😭. I am NOT saying to do that, I'm just saying don't panic, you'll be fine, God's got it 🙂
