Work experience opportunities in year 12

I’m a student currently in year 12 and I currently take physics, computer science, maths and further maths. I was wondering if there are any opportunities for work experience related to computer science or engineering that I could know about.

You dont need 'work-experience' for either of these subjects - your application will be assessed on A level predictions and your interest in the subject.

Essay competitions and 'Olympiads' are a bit meaningless as everyone does them and so they dont say anything special about you. Do them if they interest you but they wont be a game-changer for a Uni offer.

If you are eligible for any 'widening participation' schemes (usually because you live in a specific attendance postcode or go to a low-achieving state school etc) these are useful as they will motivate you and give you exposure to lots of different academic ideas - examples are Sutton Trust Browse Courses - Sutton Trust and schemes at Cambridge STEM SMART | Clare College - Cambridge University or Bristol STEM Up | Study at Bristol | University of Bristol

If you just want to do some extra reading - super-curricular_suggestions.pdf (cam.ac.uk)
or short free online courses from leading Unis - examples
