The choice between AQA and Edexcel doesn't impact how universities view your application. Both exam boards are widely recognized and respected. The key is to choose the one that best aligns with your learning style.

AQA often focuses on essay-based questions while Edexcel tends to include a mix of question types, including multiple-choice, short answers, and calculations, along with essays.

If you prefer essay, I would go with AQA, othrewise edexcel. One thing you can do is take one subject like English and write down the exam same essay then put it on Tilf website and compare the grade you get from AQA vs Edexcel so you see which is already more aligned with your style.

Search up the specification for your exam board and you can see every topic that can come up. This is very useful to revise from.

Specifications can change over the years, it's possible that diffraction was on previous specifications and not anymore, but you'll find out if you search up your specification and check.

I got a 9 in edexcel iGCSE physics and have never come across diffraction in the course before.

Uhhh sure. Physics isn’t my favourite subject but I’ll do my best. First, make sure you’re confident on the maths. Know the formulae off by heart even if you’ll get it in the exam. Secondly, know the experiments really well. They make up like 20% of what’s tested and it’s pretty important. Thirdly, Edexcel ask so many definitions for physics - knowing all of the key ones is critical. I’d also suggest buying the CGP Edexcel iGCSE revision guide as this was quite important for me getting that 9. Best of luck with the exams though.
