Thoughts on IB Psychology

Hello,

I'm struggling to choose between Psychology SL and Biology SL. I only took Biology because I got an A in IGCSE, which gave me some sort of reassurance, but I don't know if I like the content or not. This is because I like units about the human body, but HATE the ones with plant and the water unit. Further, I've also heard people saying that Biology is very difficult, which makes me want to take it less.

Therefore, I resorted to Psychology, where I've heard better comments about it. So, I would like to ask my fellow IB Psychology students - what is IB Psychology like and how do you find studying the subject?

P.S. I've tried to find the syllabus, but I couldn't (probably due to copyrights by the IB)
As someone that studied both, psychology was easier, and is something that people generally find interesting (I did at least). It gives you good skills like essays and most of the content is interesting. Biology, I also really enjoyed BUT the issue is that there are a lot of topics that you may dislike, like water and plants as you mentioned. I would personally say take Psychology as there's probably more chance you enjoy more parts of it than Biology, unless whatever you wish to do in the future is massively impacted by biology.
It depends on what other subjects you’re taking as psych is a group 3 and bio a group 4. If you have another science subject then it would be fine to switch. I did bio HL and totally relate to hating the plants unit ahaha. I would recommend thinking about what you want to study at uni and which would be most useful. If you want to study something completely different, go for whichever you think you’d enjoy more

Hello!

Thank you very much to those who help me!

I've decided to take Psychology as I have asked many about their experience in which they were mostly positive 🙂 Additionally, I don't want to the idea of not taking Psychology burden me for the next two years, so I've decided to go for it.
