QMUL/Floyer furniture

Hi. I am the mum of a student staying at the Floyer Residence/QMUL.Cupboard is a bit small and a lot of clothing are still spread in opened suitcases on the floor.I thought about buying a small cheap Ikea chest of draws which would help a lot. I read that adding a furniture is not allowed. Can ex-residents of Floyer say if possible or not please? The alternative would be to buy plastic boxes I think, not practical.Thank you.
