AQA A Level History NEA

Hi,
I'm doing AQA A level history independently and I am doing tudors as my component 1 and the cold war for component 2 but am confused on what to do for my coursework. On the exam board website it says that the question has to be over a 100 year period and can't be related to component 1 or 2. So I'm currently struggling to find a topic or question.
If anybody is doing or has done AQA A level history could you please provide me with some advice.

Hello!
I'm currently doing A level history. For our NEA the question is 'how far did the supreme court influence the development of civil rights from 1863-1965'. There are multiple variations of this question as well in a same time period depending on the school and everything. I'm also doing cold war and the only thing is that you can't talk extensively about the Vietnam/korean war or anything like that in the NEA.

These are the suggestions that my teacher gave us when I did it. If you pick one of them let me know and I can give you the list of scholars for them as well.

Do something which genuinely interests you - popular topics I often see are the fall of the western roman empire and witchcraft

I wouldn’t recommend choosing the antisemitism topic though, that’s what I wrote about and it was awful for my mental health

Thank you for the questions. I think I'm going to go with the question on development of women's rights since its a topic I'm interested in.

Thanks for the advice. Yes its definitely better if I do something that interests me. This whole time I just felt like it was better to do the popular questions but you're correct. I'll definitely take this into consideration.

Hi Rare!

I did AQA A Level History last year and my topic of choice was Tang Dynasty China.

The developments of women's rights is a very interesting topic. I struggled originally with finding a 100 year period that worked for my topic but something I can advise is making a timeline of events and picking 2 dates which are (roughly) 100 years apart so you have a vision for how you are going to write it. Also start reading around the topic so you can start considering factors which will eventually be necessary for your final project.

If you need any further help, you can reach out to me on Instagram.

Good luck!!!

Thanks but I can't open it for some reason. It just keeps saying there's an error.

Not sure why it won’t work. I moved into uni today, but I’ll try to fix it when I have time
