when to apply for student accommodation??

I am 18 and have a confirmed place at Newcastle university to study Pharmacy starting next year (2025)

I decided to defer and i won’t bore you with unnecessary details but basically i am just curious as to when the best time to apply for student accommodation is? Since i have left college i obviously no longer have support of teachers that knew what they were talking about so i am genuinely so confused as to when to do accom and finance etc

Newcastle's accomodation application portal will open in mid-June next year. I doubt that you'll be able to apply, even as a student with a deferred place, until then.

Hi Anonymous,

Our applications for student accommodation usually open in the Spring. However, you may wish to keep an eye on your emails and our Accommodation web pages in the new year.

We would encourage you to apply as early as possible for funding from the appropriate organisation to have your finance in place for the start of your course. You may find our Student Loan web pages a useful place to start.
