Year 12 Work Experience - paramedic
Hello, I'm a year 12 student and I'm looking to do my 2nd round of work exp in June /July of 2025 and was wondering if people had ideas or places they've been before to so their work exp. I did a placement on a hospital ward last time but open to any ideas.
I'm near to Birmingham and am looking to be a paramedic.

During college I managed two placements; one within a local GP surgery and another at a pharmacy. I found them both really insightful, even more-so that I've qualified and have frequent interactions with GP surgeries and occasionally pharmacies to manage patients.
Some other idea's that I think would be beneficial are hospice services and/or care-homes. Again, weekly exposure to care-home environments and end-of-life patients.

I volunteer with SJA as a first aider which is really good (both for enjoyment and experience) but it probably won’t work for your school work experience, I’m trying to get a placement at my GP bc I doubt anyone in their right mind would let a random 16 (I’ll be 17 then but still) year old on an ambulance. Really most unis won’t require specific work experience and anything which uses people skills (charity shop, care home, charity, ect) will be good.
