induction made me want to withdraw

i went to the university of law for induction and it had made me have a breakdown because i didnt like it, can i withdraw just from attending the first day?
Did you enrol already? There should be an admissions email somewhere for the university who you can tell you want to withdraw asap.

Also, have you got clearing options? It may be important to look at that BEFORE you choose to permanently withdraw or email anyone. You can call other unis clearing numbers and see if they can offer you a place before you choose to update your UCAS/ask you current uni to release you into clearing.

If you have student finance, try calling/emailing them as well beforehand to understand what you would need to do.
I think a lot of unis will have fee implications depending on when you try to withdraw. You can google that for your specific uni but Its usually something like if you withdraw in welcome week / the first week of courses you wont be liable to pay any fees. Try to get that info asap as its also something to consider. If you are confused you can always call the admissions team for the uni and ask.

Hi there,

I’m sorry to hear that your induction day didn’t go as you hoped. Starting at a new university can feel overwhelming, especially when it doesn’t meet your expectations right away. It’s completely okay to feel this way, and you’re not alone in having these kinds of feelings at the start of something new.
If you’re considering withdrawing, I’d encourage you to take a step back and reflect on what specifically didn’t work for you on the first day. Sometimes, first impressions can be challenging, and things may improve once you settle in and connect with your tutors or peers. ULaw also has a lot of support services in place, student support teams, wellbeing advisers, and personal tutors who can help you work through how you’re feeling and address any concerns you might have.

That said, if you do feel that this isn’t the right fit for you, it’s best to contact the Admissions team at [email protected] or the Student Information Service at [email protected] to discuss your options. They’ll be able to guide you through the process and ensure you have all the information you need regarding deadlines and any implications for your decision. You can also visit the Student Information team in person at your campus if that’s more convenient.

Remember, it’s okay to prioritise your wellbeing and make the best decision for yourself, whether that means giving it a bit more time or choosing a different path. Don’t hesitate to reach out for support, it’s what the university is here for. Wishing you the best, whatever you decide.
