Software Engineering Degree Apprenticeship.

Hello, I am currently in Year 13 and am currently looking for degree apprenticeships related to software engineering. I have been doing some research into this field over the summer, as well as teaching myself some content (using codecademy/, freecodecamp etc) due to me regrettably not taking computer science at A-level. I am aware degree apprenticeships are competitive and have currently been looking online (such as BBC software engineering apprenticeships) and on The Student Room to help with finding some.

Overall, I was just wondering if anyone who has experience or knowledge in this field could tell me bluntly whether this is a wise idea to pursue something like this - given its competitive nature, my concern is that other candidates with previous experience such as studying CS at A-level may easily beat me out if I have only taught myself this.

Hi, you do not need CS A-level to get into a software engineering/tech degree apprenticeship. I personally got into one without CS and I've also helped my friend get into one without CS.

What's more important is succeeding in the application process and doing well during psychometric tests, video interviews and assessment centres. If you want, I can send over some resources to help you in the application process. Just let me know if you'd be interested.

Doing all of those courses is also really good because it shows your soft skills, which recruiters are looking for more rather than just a CS qualification.

Hope that helps and let me know if you want those resources.

Hello, thank you for your reply. Glad to know I won't be limited due to my choice of A-levels. It would be amazing if you could share any resources you have that would be useful for the application process.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there, I recently applied for BBC level 6 SE apprenticeship. Would you mind sharing your experience and resources that can help me to crack their process.
Thank you.
