santander edge student bank account overdraft limit

i got the santander student account (the one w 4 years free 16-25 railcard etc), and to get the £1500 0% interest overdraft you'd need to pay in £500, which I've done, but there's been no changes. how long does it take for the overdraft limit to go to £1500?

When you login to the account, does it show the overdraft limit currently in effect? Is it showing £0 or £250? Or perhaps some other number?
