Typically get into law as a solicitor or barrister (you didn't specify which). You then specialise in the area of law later.

There are typically 3 ways to become a solicitor:

Do a degree apprenticeship in law - which accepts A Levels in any subjects; just make sure your GCSE English Language and Maths are high enough.

Do a law degree - which accepts A Levels in any subjects; just make sure your GCSE English Language and Maths are high enough.

Do a CILEx up to Level 6 (i.e. Level 3 and Level 6)

You would likely do an SQE specialising in criminal law later, secured via a training contract with a law firm.

If you want to become a barrister, you can do a degree apprenticeship in law or do a law degree; the entry requirements are the same as above. However, you would be going for the bar training and getting a pupillage under an existing barrister.

If you meant becoming a criminal lawyer in a country other than the UK, then you would need to be specific. In most cases, you would need to do a law degree recognised in your country.
