honestly, I've done many assessment centers, for other jobs (not grad schemes), this was my first time applying to a grad scheme and I found it significantly easier, the two different interviewers I had, one a manager and one a director were really nice, as one of the receptionists told me on the day " they already know you're good enough, this is just to see whether your a good fit" - they ask questions to get to know you as a person and see how you'd fit into the team, be yourself and be confident, make sure you have done research around your topic discussion AND the ACA. They may also ask questions to throw you off. ALSO, make sure you have some questions to ask them, as this makes you look interested.

Lot of people asking for advice so I'll try my best based on my experience. For the topic discussion, you'll talk for 15mins and the interviewer might interrupt to ask you to elaborate on some things. How you answer these questions I think is more important than what you say during the 15 minutes. They're looking to see how you can explain your ideas clearly and how well you can come up with a solution to a problem. For example if you say that a risk of gen AI is bias outputs, they might ask you an example of when this could occur in the workplace, or maybe a situational question which involves how a company would resolve this problem in terms of what their first steps are, how they explain it to the clients and how they can make the best out of it. After the follow-up questions they'll provide an extra piece of information relating to your topic, then ask a few questions based on that situation, how things will change etc. For the skills-based interview it will be very different depending what you have applied for. They're will be a few situational and behavioural questions which the interviewer is required to ask from a script and the typical why the role question, but this will probably take 20mins to go through and the rest of the time will be him making up questions based on what you have already said or saying if you have any questions for him. So I suggest knowing the basics of what you are applying for so you can have a good conversation about the field with the interviewer.
I have my FSA this week and this was very helpful, thank you! I’m preparing my discussion now and I’m not really sure where to take it. I’m applying to audit so I know I need to relate my topic to this service but am I meant to come up with a completely new AI related service that Deloitte could introduce or just discuss the positives and negatives of AI in Audit in general? Deloitte are already using several different AI tools so coming up with something they haven’t yet done is quite difficult? I hope that makes sense!

Hey, I was not technically shortlisted, but I applied for risk advisory too and I got an email this morning saying they're going to come out with an outcome soon but no specific timeline yet :frown: . I've been waiting a month too. Did you apply to London too?

Financial risk. They said in the email there's been lots of delays as we did our FSA near Christmas time which has led to delays in decision making. Not sure how much longer we're gonna have to wait :frown:.

It's been a month already since Christmas. I hope things can get back to normal soon. This wait is just a torture.
