Id recommend a few things:

1.

Find or make a distraction-free workspace. If you have a desk at home or revise at the kitchen table, make sure you only have what you need for the task you’re doing on the desk before you start. So like a pen, paper, iPad on guided access so you cant change apps as easily, bottle of water. If you revise primarily on your phone or another device then maybe find a way to lock those apps during study time.

2.

Find the best way for you to revise! You can revise in so many different ways- it’s a good idea to find what works for you before big exams so when it comes down to studying for them you know how to do it best. Look into methods like blurting, mindmaps, flashcards, visual notes, practice questions, watching videos etc and see which work best for you. You may find that different methods work for different subjects or types of content. That’s fine as long as you know how to revise effectively for the content you need to cover.

3.

Use the pomodoro technique and take breaks 🙂 Depending on the subject, working for 30-45 minutes and then taking a 5-10 minute break is the most effective for me. It varies though, if you find that working for a shorter period of time before taking a break is better for you to begin with then that’s fine. During the breaks it can be helpful to do something active like taking a walk or something relaxing like listening to some music

4.

Keep yourself organised- make a plan of what you will do then and stick to it! Give yourself broken down goals to eventually get to the end goal- this will make it easier for you to make a sustained effort if you’re working toward something which motivates you

Hope this helps 🙂
