The Official Buckinghamshire New University 2025 Entry Thread

Hi :hi:

This is the thread for people who are thinking of applying to Buckinghamshire New University for 2025!

Meet and chat to other people applying here.

Here are a few suggested opening questions, but ask whatever you want regarding Buckinghamshire New.

1) What A Levels are you doing (or other eligible qualifications)?
2) What course at Buckinghamshire New do you have your eyes on? And why?
3) What grades did you get/are you predicted to get at GCSE and Sixth Form?
4) Why Buckinghamshire New specifically?
5) Which admissions tests do you have to sit if any, and when will you start preparing for them?
6) Will you be attending any Open Days?
7) How are you feeling about starting University?
8) Other unis you're interested in?

You can find a directory linking to all of the other university applicant threads here.

Website: https://www.bucks.ac.uk/

General TSR rules (read before posting in this thread):
(1) Please don't ask for or post group chat links along with any social media contact details both in this thread and via PM. Such posts will simply be reported and removed as standard.
(2) Please don't ask for or post interview questions.
(3) Please don't offer to buy and sell items.
There's never much chatter around this university so I guess I'll post.

My daughter (currently on her gap year) is starting at BNU in September 2025 doing BA Hons 3D Game Art. She's already got her place secured as she's finished her A Levels.
She did A Levels in Art, Classical Civilisation, and English.

It would be nice to hear if anyone else is starting at BNU next September, in particular on her course.

Hi, I am starting at BNU in September. I am going to be doing Aviation Management with Commercial Pilot Training.
I did Applied Scince and got a DDM as a predicted grade. I applied and got an unconditional offer. I also got accepted to Kingston university. I am weighing the pros and cons of each

Honestly I think if you got the grades, there is a high chance you could get in.

Where are you getting that figure from?
The aviation management course at BNU is £9535 p/a
Sure there may be some additional costs for things but I can't imagine it would be anywhere even remotely close to 90k or even 50k

yeah it is £9.5 for the university fees, the 50k is additional costs for the course which i was looking for more information on myself.

https://www.bucks.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/bsc-hons-aviation-management-commercial-pilot-training-aeroplanes

scroll down to the additional costs section

“We recommend to budget for a total cost of around £15,000-£17,000 additional fees in Year 1 for this.

“To complete the Fixed Wing Commercial Licence with Instrument Rating, if that is the aim, will cost in the region of £50,000 or more. You can speak to various flying schools in the UK directly to get the most up-to-date costings.”

Crikey
I guess that's the cost of being able to fly planes I suppose.

That's a different degree from just the Aviation Management one though. That isn't mentioned on the standard AM page:
BSc (Hons) Aviation Management | Buckinghamshire New University
