A level/University

How important is taking A level Maths if I want to go into Finance/Economics/Business Management when I’m older? Whether I go to university or do a degree apprenticeship?

Maths A Level is pretty much mandatory for finance or economics degrees. Business management only require the equivalent of 3 A Levels in any subjects; ideally the subjects would be well rounded though (which in my book means as random as possible).

You won't need a degree in finance or business management to go into related roles. To get into finance, you would be studying for a qualification specific to the role that you want to apply for (either you would be doing it during your apprenticeship or you would do it before you go into the role) - as you didn't specify the role, I don't know what you would need. Business management does not require specific subjects.

Whilst you can go into economics with a quantitative degree (which by default would likely require A Level Maths), you can strictly speaking do an apprenticeship with the Bank of England - you might be able to get away without doing A Level Maths, but it's not likely.

So yeah, academically A Level Maths 2/3 and professionally 1/3. It's kind of important. In particular, you would be using a lot of stats irrespective of which area you would go in.
