Applying to Hills Road Sixth Form college

I’m in year 11 and I would like to attend an open day at Hills Road Sixth Form College but I can’t find anywhere on their website as to when it is for people like me who want to apply for September 2025. Any advice? Also I want to take physics chemistry and biology for my A levels

Hey! I’ve gotten an offer to this school this year but I chose to go to another school instead. HRSFC applications open around mid-October and closes at January 2025. Try going on their school website and find the apply section. Later on, use MyChoice16 to apply to hills road (more detail on the website).

I know this isn't directed at me but I also chose not to go to hills as I didn't like their ethos overall. There are so many options in the cambridge area, I've got a friend at long road doing the same subjects you wanna do and he's loving it :smile:

I'm sure you can find a school that suits you well, but make sure to research and dont just go by where has the best results

I chose to go to the Perse instead, it’s a great school - HRSFC has a nice community as well, but overall Perse gave an unexpected surprise of friendliness.

Structure i used (didnt apply to hills but same structure everyone used and classmates applied there!):
1 paragraph per subject you’re applying for, to include-

•

Why you are enjoying it at gcse

•

Why you want to do it at a level- uni aspirations for example

•

What makes you suited to the course- skills you have

•

Extracurriculars you to relate (if none then extracurriculars which gave you skills useful for that subject)

Then one paragraph on other stuff which makes you a desirable candidate-

•

Any other clubs or hobbies- they have strong extracurricular programmes at hills so like seeing a range of interests im told

•

Any work experience you’ve done

Make sure to focus on skills you get from stuff rather than just listing things. Relate the skills back to subjects.
