veterinary medicine gcse grades

hi i’m in year 12 and looking to apply to vet med
my current gcse are:
9,9,8,8,8,8,7,6,6,6,5

i’m going to be resitting my chemistry gcse in summer as although i got an 8 in biology a lot of the unis ask for two 7s in sciences especially the ones id want to apply to and i only achieved a 6 in it. i am stuck on whether to retake physics aswell as this is what i got my 5 in and am conscious that having such a low stem grades may weaken my application. i know i could get higher i just didn’t revise enough for them as i thought i would going to take all arts subjects for a level

i have been obtaining all the correct work experience and doing extracurriculars, alongside my a levels of bio, chem and art. any advice on the physics would be great as i am unsure whether it will make a significant difference in if my application is successful

Sorry can’t help but following this. What did you get in physics? If grade 7 will that not suffice with your biology? I want to apply to vet school but although got a range of 9-7 , including grade 8 in physics and 7 in biology I missed grade 7 in chemistry by 2 marks. I know most unis ask for two grade 7+ in sciences so hoping they will accept my physics and biology as two sciences. I’m not planning to resit chemistry. I have been reading posts on here and it seems some vet schools will accept my GCSE grades as long as predicted As at A level. I’m doing A level, chemistry, biology and maths.

Sorry, didn’t read properly, you got grade 5 in physics. Yes, probably go for resit in both if you can cope with the work load and you think you can improve grade. It will look better on your application and give you more chance of getting interview. I’m hoping because I got grade 7,8 in sciences they’ll accept but not sure as only grade 6 for chemistry. I’m not resitting because I’m hoping.the grades in two sciences will count. I want to put all my efforts into achieving grades As at a level. Good luck
