Do teachers miss us as much as we miss them

Whenever i have rough days like today I wish I was in sixth form again and had that support. I remember going to a teacher for every little problem and I wrote her a nice goodbye/thank you which she ignored lol and it hurt as I obviously thought we got on well. I miss having that support tho and I was just thinking about it today and God I miss my teachers but do they even miss me half as much as I miss them

i'm a teacher and I do think about specific students from time to time if things remind me of them. I have had so many students though that I don't really miss anyone, as such. Try not to take it to heart that your teacher ignored your message. When I was at school, my German teacher (who I idolised) used my 'Thank You' card as note paper to write someone's telephone number (!) In the grand scheme of life, it does suck, but you'll make lots more meaningful relationships in the future with others.

Im on a gap year so i think I’m feeling it more as I have nothing to do atm ( except revise for the ucat and apply for jobs that arent retail), but it’s just especially sad since I only had her for one year and I feel like if I had received some form of “closure” towards the end like a “ it was nice teaching you” message or if she’d even said that to me it would have helped me move on. But she was lowkey rude to the point that i’m not even asking her to do my UCAS reference im getting my tutor who didn’t even like me. And it hurts cause my other teachers like my English language one has been SOO supportive throughout helping me decide to reapply and take a gap year and it’s like why couldn’t she? She’s in charge of helping students with their med/dent applications at sixth form yet my english teacher who knows nothing ab stem has helped me much more and y13s keep messaging me for help with their applications and whenever they mention her it hurts so much cause I didnt get that help
