student finance Wales seperated parents

Can anyone confirm if my daughter can apply for Student finance using either parent? My daughter is based with me and my partner but visits her dad but my partner will not be supporting her financially at all.

From my own experience my parents are divorced and I only wanted to put my mum on my application as my dad would not be supporting me financially. So I had to upload a decree (divorce papers) and state why I did not wish to have my father on my application (in a cover letter) This was successful. As for your partner, as long as you’re not married, don’t put them on the application, because you’re not married, it wouldn’t matter anyway. Hope this helps. It’s what worked for me when I had this issue. (Add all evidence (decree & cover letter to ‘upload supporting evidence)
