I had 5A*s and 1A in IGCSE. also i'm giving my tmua in january but imperial advises to take the test in october. do you think i'll be disadvantaged a lot? i just think i'll have more time to prepare so i'll be able to score better.

Nah you won't be disadvantaged if you take it in Jan. They only recommend October so they have more time to review your application, but if your application is strong, it won't make a difference. Especially if you feel like you would perform better in Jan than you would've in October, defo the right decision.

Probably yeah. I know people who got in this year doing just Maths, Further Maths and Econ. You don't have to have 4 A-Levels, and if the rest of your application is strong, you'll be a competitive applicant for sure.

Thank You! That's reassuring to hear. Is it fine if you could pm me, so that I can ask some more questions please?

Would it be weird or disadvantage me if my PS is data science based instead of econ based like most other people, as I'm applying for data science in other unis?

hi, has anybody gotten into the bsc economics, finance, and data science course at imperial for the september 2024 intake? i was wondering the kind of a-level subjects and scores gets students in. I have AS grades of As in fm, cs, phy, maths and predicted grades of A*s in 3 subjects and A in fm.
Guys I have achieved A*A*A and currently doing more a levels FM and politics where I'm predicted 2A* but got poor GCSEs 2 8s and 1 9 and 1 7 due to mitigation circumstances. Do you think it's worth applying.

It's worth applying yeah. Imperial look at applications holistically, so if your TMUA is good (ie. above the cutoff score), a-levels are already good considering the extra 2 predicted, and then if interview goes well, the GCSE's won't really matter much.

I wonder which subjects you achieved 3A*? 😧 A* in Further Maths would make you a very strong candidate and the essay writing skills gained from Politics will be highly advantageous too. 🙂
