Can anyone sue me with this?

I am setting up a web development business

The police said there is nothing wrong with setting up a business

I am not doing nothing wrong

I haven't/no proof of:

-No misrepresentation
-I am not committing fraud
-There is no scam
-I am not misleading anyone

No proof of any wrong doing

Can anyone take me to court saying "how am I doing it" "I don't think I have got what it takes"

It's a private matter anyway

So you're asking whether someone can sue you because they don't think you'd succeed?

No, they can't. They could try to sue you if they thought you hadn't provided the service you promised them though

Seriously, after all the previous responses you've had on here, you asked the police if it was OK to set up a business? They've got better things to do.

Im stated I am hiring an IT developer for self employment in another venture.

All it is, I just need an app developed.

What if someone approaches me, say they need something developed. Then they go to the police saying. "I don't have the skills" and "I've committed fraud"

BUT

But I can clarify I'm hiring a developer, to develop an app for myself

There is no website,
No advertising,
No misrepresentation
No scam
Not misleading

All it is, is an app for myself

What if someone approaches me, say they need something developed. Then they go to the police saying. "I don't have the skills" and "I've committed fraud"? But I clarify a lot of things?

There is absolutely no need to bother the police, or even keep posting on here, about your plans. Worry about it if something actually happens in the future, but in the meantime just do your thing, stop speculating and address your paranoia.

It appears that I have missed some comedy gold.

Seeking business advice from the police is a daft thing to do.

Your nervousness about your proposed business appears odd. Nobody can successfully sue you unless you commit an actionable civil wrong against that person, by (to give three non-exhaustive examples) breaking a contract, causing harm through negligence, or infringing intellectual property rights.

I was just worried about if someone went to the police to say I'm misrepresented myself and I don't have the skills. I'm just hiring a developer.

That is a bizarre concern. Do you think that if I were to set up shop repairing cars, or were to open a shop selling bananas, someone would go the cops and say "that person isn't any good at repairing cars" or "that person has no experience of selling bananas"? You appear to have a strange notion of the role of the police.

What I thought was, If they think you're offering a service without being qualified. Offering a service without the necessary qualifications is plausible reason why they could go and maybe the police could get involved.

Hey
The main reasons for people going after you are copyright (copying someone else's ideas) and/or posting anything that's considered slander or libel (publishing nasty stuff about other people - especially rich, powerful and/or famous ones - with no evidence to back this up). Do not copy anyone else's ideas as the big US giants come after even the smallest European fry (including school kids). Do not put any anything slanderous online (eg Prince Xxxxx is a a hooker-loving coke addict), otherwise you'll be threatened with court action - and probably taken to court - by their big-dog briefs (lawyers, not underpants, though better if it were their underpants!🤪). So long as it's not illegal (really hope not, dude😳), you've got nothing to worry about. But if you suspect that what you're planning might not be legal (and I'm getting a smoky vibe from your message that this might be the case - sounds a bit cloak and dagger to me: why have you even been to the cops?), you defo need to rethink your plans. And If it's anything REALLY dodge eg illegals (arms, drugs, pimping, trafficking (anything is possible - don't know who you are!), you need to put AWAY such foolish get-rich-quick ideas, boy/girl, and focus on getting yourself a decent education. As your mother would say. PS: if you reply and say that it's just a business idea for selling stationery items, I'll feel WAY too dramatic 😎.

No, it isn't.
Your proposed business is not a regulated activity. Your fears are irrational.

Thanks. But what if someone reports me as doing something I'm not qualified in? I'm just hiring

If, if, if. Worry about it WHEN something happens, which is highly unlikely anyway as the police wouldn't take it seriously.

It has been explained to you repeatedly that you require no qualifications to start your proposed business. The police are not responsible for monitoring the ability of people to conduct web development businesses. Nor is anyone else. There is no Regulator of "doing this or that".

You appear to be trolling.

If not, you appear to be irrational.

Perhaps, however, your plans involve something shifty, and that explains your incessant repetition of the same query.
I believe the OP suffers from anxiety and a lot of this stems from them stating publicly that they studied at a certain uni which whilst true, they didn’t leave with a qualification.

I’ve no idea whether anyone has actually taken issue with this, or whether it is all catastrophising on their part. However it has been ongoing for at least a year.
