Transferring universities

Hi, I have a question regarding my situation at university. Basically I’m currently studying my first year at Leeds and I wish to transfer to university of Liverpool. I’ve contacted them and they said while they don’t do second year transfers for law I can transfer into first year (retake first year there) as long as I get a 60% in my current first year at Leeds. What I don’t understand is how do I apply for this and when? Is this like on ucas because if so would I have to apply on ucas in dec-Jan before I even get my first year grades?

You would need to reapply through UCAS in the normal way. There's no guarantee you would get an offer, and they can make it conditional on achieving specified results in your first year at your current uni.

Note also starting again in first year at the new uni will mean you have used up your "gift year" of funding from SFE and will only have exactly enough funding to cover the new course - if you have to repeat a year or change course/uni again, that may affect your entitlement going forward.
