Anyone applying for Leicester?
Making this course because I really want to discuss and speculate the course and entry with other people.

2025 Scoring Document: https://le.ac.uk/-/media/uol/docs/academic-departments/medicine/study-regulations/2025-scoring-of-application-a100-final.pdf

Last year's cut off was 52.5 out of 64 points for pre-interview selection, for non graduate home applicants with predicted A-Levels.

It was quite a dip from the last few years. I talked to the open day admissions people, they said it's very likely because 8 and 9 s were rated differently. They also said it could be due to less people applying. If I am to speculate, it'll probably go up a little this year because 52 last year seems quite easy so people may be inclined to apply. What do you think?

Their admissions statistics is quite open. I've found data for the last few years:
2024: https://le.ac.uk/-/media/uol/docs/academic-departments/medicine/study/applying/a100-a199-admissions-statistics-2024-entry---post-interview-final.pdf
2023: https://le.ac.uk/-/media/uol/docs/academic-departments/medicine/study/applying/a100-a199-admissions-statistics-2023-entry---post-interview-final.pdf
2022: https://le.ac.uk/-/media/uol/docs/academic-departments/medicine/study/applying/a100-a199-admissions-statistics-2022-entry---post-interview-final.pdf

2025 entry cut off so far (non contextual home predicted a levels): 53

i dont think a levels play any part other than minimum, havent found anything else in regards to that. i've got medify interview kit (just a load of questions with guide and model answers), and medic mentor summer school's 2 interview days.

That’s great. I’m strolling through medicine interview book. What other uni choices you are considering? I’m looking for keele, Leicester, confused with other choices

not sure. they dont state any WP specific cutoff for pre interview. also they said in the main page https://le.ac.uk/courses/medicine-mbchb/2025 that "top scoring applicants are invited to interview without regard to their background", and that borderline groups post and pre interview are checked for all parts of the application

some programmes seem to offer an automatic interview and lowered offer. might be wrong but this is what i found from my research

Unfortunately very unlikely. I’m not confident even with score of 56 as unsure what will be cutoff for this year

It's in 2024 admissions statistics, that I linked. Also, the number was meant for home non graduate with predicted a level applicants, but I realised I'd put in the wrong number. It is actually meant to be 52.5. 52 was for home graduate.

I'd be willing to bet on 56. It went down significantly in 2024 and that can encourage people to sign up for le this year, but I doubt it would go past 56.
In my completely unbiased opinion, I'd say there's about a 7-10% chance of it going above 56. I wouldn't be able to tell you how I calculated that. But make your own assessment, I'm just waffling

Very true. A gut feeling it should be somewhere around 56 this year. Calculating average between 59.5 & 52.5 leads to 56 🙂 Lets leave it to university. I am back to preparation for interview
