Only Heard Back from St. Andrews – Is This Normal?

I submitted my UCAS application on September 11th for BA History programs at several universities, including UCL, King's College London, LSE, Edinburgh, and St. Andrews. So far, the only response I’ve received has been from St. Andrews.

Is it typical to hear back from just one university at this stage? Should I be concerned that I haven’t received confirmation emails or portal login details from the others yet?

I’d appreciate any insights from fellow applicants or students who have gone through the process, particularly any other international students.

Yes very normal . Your unis have until May (I believe) to respond, so expect to be waiting at least another month. As for log in info, you may not get this until you meet your offer (on results day)
Pretty normal. Some unis don’t send any acknowledgment. Some unis don’t have their own portal - or only send a login later.

If it looks right on UCAS Hub then it’s fine.
Many Unis will not even have accessed any new applications from UCAS yet - they are too busy tidying up from 2024 and prepping data-systems etc for 2025 applications.

This probably doesn’t help but I heard that London unis tend to get back at a later date than everyone else so like after Christmas/before Easter time. I’m not sure if that is true but if it is then everything is normal for you. 🙂 hope this helps!

There's no reason to think then that it would be 'lost' since they haven't prepared it yet, right?

Good to know, though even more anxiety-inducing (I was hoping to hear back before the American application cycle so I wouldn't have to resort to any options here 🙄). I did check with UCAS, though, and it seems everything is good to go on their end.

If you have received emails from some Unis then your application has been processed by UCAS - and btw, Unis do not 'lose' applications so stop worrying.

Also kind of important to note but you will probably only hear back after Christmas from some become that when everyone else has applied so they probably want to review all applications depending on how competitive your course is, St Andrews getting back in September after like a week is essentially unheard of so if your are anxiously waiting for a result I would try and leave it to the back burner for a while and just focus on school
I think our thread starter is more concerned about the lack of an acknowledgment message than an application decision.
Update; almost all my choices have gotten back to me with requests for documents and portal info. Life is good.
