AS level Resit for Medicine
Hello!
I am in a position where i am technically a year 13 student (second year) where I studied Biology, English Literature and Criminology and wanted to pursue Medicine. Whilst in year 12, I knew early on how my subjects disadvantaged me however my school did not let me change my subjects so I had to stay with them for a year. I couldn’t do Chemistry at the time as those classes happened at the same time as English classes and I knew I wanted to do Chemistry, Biology and English for A-level.
This year I decided to drop Criminology for Chemistry which meant I am repeating Year 12 (AS level) with Biology , Chemistry and English Literature. Does this mean I am resitting my A-levels as I have not sat the official exams that happen in May?
I’m currently searching for medical schools and majority don’t accept A-level resits. As I am therefore going to complete my a-level course in a 3 year duration, what impact does this have on me for applying to medicine??
