Hi there, I’m so sorry you feel this way. Starting sixth form can be really stressful and I know I had a similar experience last year. I take A level maths so I can give you some advice for that. I don’t do a level physics and computer science but hopefully someone else can help you with that. I recommend that you if you haven’t yet, ask your teacher for help after class. Ask if it’s possible for them to go through some questions or a topic at a different time such as lunch time or a free period. With maths, it is so important to understand the content first before you attempt questions. I recommend using YouTube videos for topics you are struggling with. For maths BicenMaths, AJ Maths and TheGCSEMathsTutor (also has a level maths videos) are really good. I also recommend using YouTube for physics and computer science but I don’t know any specific YouTubers. Go through the video and attempt the questions alongside them. After this I would use the textbook to go through the first few questions and look over the examples. Then use physics and maths
tutor to access their summary notes and past paper questions for each topic. Maths genie also has questions per topic and videos that go with them. I hope this helps for maths. Make sure you are going over the work after your lesson even before it that helps.

Regarding your other a levels, it might be possible to change one since it is still early on in the year. Depending on how bad it is for you, decide whether sticking with it and seeing how things go is better or not. It’s still very early and there is time for improvement.

Which degree are you thinking of doing at university? If it is physics then yes you might need a foundation year but that depends on the university and what their grade requirements are. Don’t stress too much about it since there is plenty time to improve your grades. Focus on understanding what topics you are struggling and use as many online resources as you can and watch lots of videos. If the degree is something else than you might not even need physics. With your a levels you can do engineering, maths, computer science, data science, statistics, economics etc. You have a lot of options.

I hope this helps.

Like I said in the previous post whether you need to do a foundation year or not depends on the course you are applying to, the university, and the minimum grade entry requirements.

When you have your extra classes, do you tell the teacher you don’t understand it or do you just listen? If the teacher doesn’t know that you are confused they most likely won’t give you the help you need.

I’m guessing everything is quite overwhelming for you right now. I’m really sorry you feel this way🥹 Take it step by step and I promise things will get better. Have you had any tests recently? What makes you so sure that you will fail your subjects? Your GCSE grades aren’t actually as bad as you think, I believe a B is around a 6 and C is 5 or 4. If you feel like you don’t have a good foundation because you didn’t do well in your GCSEs, I suggest you go over gcse content and find questions that are designed to facilitate the change from gcse to a level.
Do you want to do physics at university?
