A-level Options

Hi, so I'm going to apply for sixth form in 2 months and I'm looking to do Economics in a Russel Group uni (preferably Oxbridge) and recently I've started seriously doubting my options so I was hoping to get some advice on my prospective options :
Maths - definite
Economics- definite
Further Maths/History/German/Politics/Eng Lit - considering.
The sixth form I'm applying to lets you study 4 A levels if you take Maths&FM as one option, and I was previously intent on doing just that but I'm not sure if I could handle doing 4 subjects as I've been speaking to people who've been successful at uni and telling not do that as it'll maybe just bring my grades down.

I don't know if I should commit to FM so that's mainly what I'm ruminating on tbh.
Should I apply for Maths&FM and take a humanity/MFL as a 4th and drop it if I have to is what I'm asking, i think.
For context, I'm predicted to get 8/9s in history, german, maths, eng lit but already struggle with FM at GCSE.
German is also my favourite subject but is it better to take a humanities/essay-based subject over it to look good for unis as it broadens my options?

Sorry for the long message, but I really would appreciate some advice. Thank youu <3

if you want oxbridge you need further maths to be competitive for econ, i don't know if its an official requirement or not but it's definitely an unofficial one.

I've been looking at PPE and at Oxford it doesn't require FM but a humanities does look good. With econ and maths do you think German would be a fine combo or should I just do History? I currently prefer German much more, but don't know how desirable that looks for an application which is what my options all boil down to. Thank you for your reply btw!

Maths, economics and German would be a perfectly good combination for PPE at Oxford. Modern languages A levels are rigorous humanities courses which will be respected by any university. If you prefer German much more to history, pick German.

oh if its ppe then its fine, i assumed from your original post that you wanted to apply for econ and management or pure econ
it really doesn't matter whether you do german or history, so if you like german more then i'd say go for it!

Yeah I reckon I'll do an AS for FM or see how I handle the first few weeks and go with those 3. Thanks for your help, it's much appreciated!
