need sqa appeal results before October 15 for medicine application.

hi all! I'm planning to apply to medicine this year. I got 3As 2Bs at higher, but unis tend to ask for 4As 1B. one of those Bs was just one mark off an A, so I decided to appeal. the problem is, I didn't qualify for priority appeal because the sqa website says its only for those w a conditional uni offer or a job that needs a certain grade, neither of which apply to me. the problem is.. non-priority appeals are due to come in October 31st (according to the website), but for medicine you need to submit your application before October 15 or you miss the application window. I don't really know what I'm supposed to do! I guess I'm counting on the appeal coming erlier than expected, but I don't know if that's even a possibility. if you have appealed SQA before, did it in fact come late October as the website states, or was it early?
I tried calling them about this but they said they can't help me. I'm just having a hard time understanding how such a big government authority like the SQA could have this kind of oversight.. surely they know that medicine applications are due early.

i'm in the same boat, i managed to put it through as priority but later had it moved to standard and unfortunately I think it means you have to apply next year? because i appealed last year and it came on exactly the 31st, i'm eligible for gateway though so i'm just applying to that in january

thanks for the response. it just baffles me that i have to waste an entire year of my life just because the sqa forgot to make med students eligible for priority appeal. 🤦*♀️ it seems so obvious. I just sent a complaint to them so this doesn't happen to someone else in the future.
Apply by the deadline with your current grade.

Email your choices and let them know you're pending a re-mark and the due date. If your grade is improved, contact them again with evidence of the new result.

Worst case you waste £27, best case you save a year.

Email the unis. But apply strategically to the ones ur eligible (dundee and aberdeen) and apply to english unis like HYMS and ARU. because if u apply to unis like edinburgh and glasgow, you'll be rejected immediately.

Hi! I’ve had a look at some emails from last year about my appeals, by the 25th of October my appeal was still getting processed by the SQA (it wasn’t a priority appeal) hope that helps?

See for your course, do you need your grades at the end of S5? Or S6? (I’m a drama student but I’ve got a few friends who are applying for medicine and some of them have to get the grades by the end of S5 and then some places ask for the end of S6)

they'll need Advanced highers at atleast BBC to get into standard med, so S6
