Downing vs Emmanuel Cambridge

I need to choose a college!!! Some help plz!

Based on pretty much appearances I’ve narrowed down my choice between downing and Emmanuel. Applying for computer science this October.

What I’m looking for
- good kitchen so I can self cater (I’m a fussy eater!!)
- en suite
- college not being ugly (both satisfy my criteria for this)

Downing pros and cons:
Pro
- has the good accomodation with kitchen
- looks nice
- takes in more ppl for cs so like potential friend haha
- architecture gives me a Cambridge feel (In comparison to medwards haha)
Con
- not a huge fan of the red of the dining hall….
- library was ok
- so open! Wasn’t really gardeny (my thoughts from the open day atleast unless there was more past the open day tour)

Emmanuel:
Pro
- garden seem really pretty though I haven’t been in person only seen online
- swimming pool
- 5 minutes closer to cs campus 💀💀
Con
- worried about self catering potential and the en suite situation

So basically does anyone know what the accom and self catering possibilities are like in Emmanuel or have any other thoughts and advice? Plz
Good kitchens (and definitely access to ovens) are relatively unusual in Cambridge undergraduate accommodation so if this is a priority for you then you may want to prioritise this.

Generally Cambridge doesn't have a concept of self-catering versus catered accommodation as a general rule (albeit there are exceptions in both directions), if you live on the college main site, it's anticipated that you'll buy meals regularly in the college dining hall/buttery (which operates on a pay as you go model, rather than food being included), and there are limited cooking facilities (along the lines of toaster, microwave and hot plate) that you can prepare some basic meals on. Most accommodation located away from a college's main site (which tends to be non-freshers) tends to have fuller kitchens, as it's harder to attend the dining hall for meals.
