Help me with my Personal Statement!!!!!!! - Paramedic Science

hiii,
im applying for paramedic science and was wondering if I was at a disadvantage for not doing work experience. every time ive tried to book something they are never any spaces available. also I was wondering what the admissions look for in a personal statement. I take a level biology, psychology and dance.
my extra curricular: dance outside of school, was in my dance company at school and dance captain for 2 years, volunteer at netball training, and tutored a year 11 before their exams. I also work in retail if that has any significance.

I dont know if you need GCSEs but I got a 8 in English language and a 7 in maths.

Work experience will give your application a boost, but it doesn't necessarily have to be directly related to paramedic science or even the healthcare sector. You can draw a lot of transferable skills from any work experience and apply these to the role of a paramedic to demonstrate your understanding of the NHS constitution values and expectations.

From your extra curricular, you will also be able to talk about these transferable skills too. Have you had to undertake any leadership as dance captain? Have there been times where you have had to use your initiative, be proactive, have clear communication and team work? Have you been in stressful/challenging situations and how have you dealt with these?

Take a look at this thread for some useful personal statement advice 🙂 At the bottom of the thread, there are some tips specifically for health personal statements.

Get a volunteer job at a care-home or a special school - or as part of 'Friends' of your local hospital - you just need evidence of 'caring' experience and an understanding of dealing with people outside your comfort zone.
