Hi. I have decided to take a gap year first then apply to uni. May i know if anyone who have done the same thing and what kind of questions about gap year will the interviewers ask ? Do i have to do work experience or any part-time job during my gap year ?

Hi @Fishywy

I did a gap year before applying to study at university!

Whether you have an interview will depend on the course and university that you are applying for.
In my experience, I did have an interview as I was applying for courses that normally interview. These interviews were the same as they would have been if I went directly from Sixth Form to university.

However, I used my experiences from my gap year (including work experience and travelling) to answer a lot of the questions in the interview and in my personal statement.

Hope that helps!

Thanks. Is it necessary to include what you’ve done during gap year ?

Hi @Fishywy

It may not be necessary however I would recommend including it if you can relate it to the degree that you are applying for.
For example, did you gain skills from a part time job that could be applied to your degree or future career?

Hope that helps!
