Withdrawal and new application

Hi. So on the 11th September I started my pgce (undergraduate maintenance loan). On the 16th September I withdrew and received my first payment.

I withdrew as I want to do my doctorate instead which starts on the 4th October. As my withdrawal takes time to update on my student finance England account I can’t apply for doctoral loan (I understand until account updates).

In the meantime would this be better if I sent my application for doctorate loan in the post so when withdrawal updates they (student finance England) will already have had my application. Am I right in thinking this would kind of speed up the process.

Hi there,

Yes you can send your application via post so it could be processed quicker if we are waiting for your Change of Circumstances Withdrawal is updated.

Thanks, Drew

Hi there,

If you have had an email saying emergency stop then your university have not sent your Change of Circumstances Withdrawal correctly. I would advise you contact us to check to see if we have received what we require. To access our live chat service select undergraduate and then ‘contact us’. From here you will be able to use our live chat service when it is available. Alternatively, you can contact us on 0300 100 0607 for further assistance. Our opening hours are stated on our ‘contact us’ page.

Thanks, Drew
