Student finance

Hi, I'm a new student and currently not eligible for Student Finance due to delay of my BR 3 yrs ago, so I plan to pay my first-year fees myself. However, I should meet the requirements for Student Finance next year. If I get my British citizenship earlier, can I apply for Student Finance mid-year? And when should I apply for next year's funding?"

Hi there,

No you would still be ineligible for funding with Student Finance. You would need to have your status granted before the start of the 1st day of the 1st academic year of your course.

Thanks, Drew

But if am eligible before the start of 1 day of 2nd academic year can I then apply for student finance for 2nd year because I will be eligible on April and as well waiting for my British citizenship
So am thinking to pay my first year with my own money --installment then before 2nd year I will apply for SF is that allowed

Hi there,

I have already advised you would not be eligible to apply for funding in the 2nd year as you did not have a valid status in your 1st year.

Thanks, Drew

I need to be eligible for my first year; otherwise, I won't be able to apply for the second year, even if I meet the eligibility requirements then

I just want it to be clear also can you give me the source for this info so I fully understand and not miss something important

Thanks from Andro KiM
