Civil service fast stream 2025

Hi guys!

Applications for the fast stream are opening soon, I was wondering if there was anyone on here applying. I saw a thread for last year's applicants but not for this year so thought I'd make one so we can help each other out
I’m applying this year 🙂

I’m looking to apply but don’t know which one to apply for. It says you can apply for up to 4, which is good. I’ve just looked at the commercial scheme but can’t seem to find much info about it anywhere. Can anybody point me in the right direction please?

I think I’m going to apply this year too! Nothing to lose )
Good luck with your applications this year! I'm a first-year Digital Fast Streamer, so feel free to ask me any questions about that particular scheme or the process/life on the Fast Stream in general.

Hey, do you know if you can do fast stream part time?
Hi everyone, just wondering if it’s weird to apply for the civil summer internship as postgrad student?

How intensive is the learning/assessment side? I have a young family so don't want to have to do loads of work at home if possible.

Hi! You can do compressed hours as part of a workplace adjustment, but the scheme is full time.

It all depends on the scheme—mine is quite light, and I do learning at my own pace. However, some schemes, like Finance, will be quite heavy when it comes to learning. There is also mandatory learning that involves travel, so bear this in mind and make sure it's something you can commit to.

Did you apply in your final year of your undergrad? I’m thinking of applying for a summer internship as I’m a post grad on a 2 year course and then for the fast stream in my last year

Thanks for replying that's really useful to know. Did you find out about the travel before you started? Just wondering if there's somewhere I can read up on the course requirements or do they not tell you until further through the application process?

I finished university a while ago and applied for a change of pace and career change. I'd recommend applying for the internship as, if successful, you'll then skip the online application and go straight to the assessment centre.

Yup - you get information just before you start but you're given plenty of notice for when you need to relocate, travel for learning and events etc. 😊
Hi everyone! I’m also looking to apply for the FS, only really interested in project delivery atm.
Hi everyone! I'm looking to apply this year, was wondering what the assessment process is really like from someone who has already done it?
