Can anyone help me with this question:
If you would have any points that would be good "R.A. Butler did more to ensure the revival of Conservative fortunes up to 1955 than any other leader." Assess this viewpoint.

You can try and explore a few key points:

Butler political role: Butler was very influential within the Conservative Party. He made a few key contributions in politics - ie. 1944 Education Act which made access to school a lot bigger = a big deal at the time.

Butler impact on the Conservative Party: he had a huge impact in modernizing the Conservative Party and make it more popular to the post-war electorate. He played a big role in drafting the 1945 Conservative manifesto.

Compare Butler to Churchill. You could make a comparison between both and they both impacted politics and had a public appeal but churcill was more public and international while butler was more hidden behind the scene.

Discuss the strengths of Butler’s strategies in reviving the Conservative Party but also the broader social and economic impact of his policies.

Conclude by showing Butler's role in comparison to his peers. Was he the most influential leader in reviving the party’s fortunes, or was his role complemented and perhaps overshadowed by the contributions of others?
