PGDE (Secondary) Geography with a 2:2 (Hons) Degree in Human Geography

Hi all,
I have been wanting to complete a PGDE for years now and am now financially able to do so!

I am worried that my 2:2 (Hons) degree in Human Geography may not be enough as I have heard that competition for places is high.

Does anyone have any insight into this? I've heard that you really need a 2:1 but my wife (who is a teacher) thinks my work experience will help me bridge the gap.

Thanks!

Hi @jhowge

It's lovely to hear that you are passionate about teaching. A 2:2 is perfectly acceptable to apply for a teacher training course. What will also go in your favour is that you are obviously passionate about teaching.

I would recommend that you register with The Get Into Teaching Service and get advice and support from an adviser. They will help you with your application and subsequent interviews and support you throughout the whole application process. You can register using the link below:

The very best of luck.

That's brilliant to hear Sue, thanks so much for the reply. I actually signed up yesterday. Just waiting for my advisor to get in touch so I can bombard them with questions!
