A-Level History coursework interpretations

Hi!

My AQA A-Level History NEA is on this question:
‘The main reason for the persecution of witches in Britain in the period 1603 to 1717 was political instability.’ How far do you agree with this statement?

For choosing interpretations, we have been told that they have to be on something similar but with differing opinions and provenance - I have found one on the East Anglia witch trials from 1644-1646 and one on the Great Scottish Witch Hunt of 1661-1662 that are really good for contrasting on opinions and provenance - just one question - are the different topics an issue? I had planned to tie them together by using the contrasting opinions to show how historians debate the main reason for witch trials during periods of political instability (the first says it’s religion, the second says it’s the political change itself!).

Thanks!
